Aitoja intiaanikorvakoruja / Authentic Indian earrings

Korvakorujen kaikki koukut ovat kirurginterästä ja helmet lasia ellei toisin mainita. Korvakoruissa käytetyt piikkisianpiikit (ne pitkät valkoiset pötköt, joissa on tummempi toinen pää) on huolellisesti puhdistettu. Allaolevat kuvat ovat vain esimerkkeinä, lisää kuvia löytyy otsikon 'kuvat' alta kansiosta 'koruja'.

All the earrings have surgent steel hooks and glass beads, if not mentioned something else. The porcupine quills (the long white tube-kind beads with one darker end) are carefully cleaned. The pictures below are just examples, you can find more under the link 'pictures' in the  folder called 'jewelleries'.

Helmikirjotut korvakorut / Beaded earrings 

Nämä korvakorut on valmistettu kirjomalla lasihelmiä pehmeälle, kevyesti savustetulle peurannahalle. Nahka on näkyvillä korujen takaosassa. Kuvan korvakorujen pyöreä osa on halkaisijaltaan n.2,5cm.

These earrings are beaded with glass beads on a soft, lightly smoked deer skin. The skin can be seen on the back of the jewellery. The round part in these earrings is about 2,5cm diameter.

 Nämä korvakorut ovat kuten edellä, mutta lisänä piikkisian piikeistä ja helmistä tehdyt lenkit. 

These earrings are like the ones above, but they also have loops made of porqupine quills and beads.

Samoja pieniä 13o hiottuja lasihelmiä näissäkin, lisänä korun yläosassa joko turkoosi tai suurempi lasihelmi. Korvakorun ilme muuttuu sen mukaan, käytetäänkö läpinäkyviä vai läpinäkymättömiä helmiä. Vasemmanpuoleisen kuvan punavihreät korvikset on tehty läpinäkyvistä helmistä, jolloin ne suodattavat valoa kauniisti. Keskimmäinen pari on läpinäkymättömistä ja oikeanpuoleisen parin vihreät helmet ovat läpinäkyviä ja hopeiset hopeahelmiä. Kuvan korut ovat pituudeltaan 3-4cm mitattuna ilman koukkua. Väreillä ja yhdistelmillä ei ole rajaa!

The same tiny faceted 13o beads are used in these pairs of earrings, with a bigger glass bead or a turquoise bead added on top. The look of the earring changes with the kind of beads used; opaque or transparent. The red-green pair on the left is made of transparent beads which catch the sun nicely. The pair of earrings in the middle is made with opaque beads and the green ones on the right hand picture are transparent, the silver ones are silver beads. These earrings in the pictures are 3-4cm long without the hooks. There is no limits with the colours or the combinations!

Tuohikorvisten takaosa on kevyesti savustettua pehmeää peurannahkaa, etuosa suomalaisen koivun tuohta ja reunahelmet lasia. Näissä korvakoruissa suomalainen kulttuuri yhdistyy kauniisti ja luonnollisesti Pohjois-Amerikan intiaanikulttuuriin.

The backs of the birch bark earrings are soft, lightly smoked deer leather, the front part is made of bark from a Finnish birch tree and the beads are glass. The Finnish culture is tied nicely and naturally to the North American Indian culture in these earrings.

Sulkakorvakorut / Feather earrings

Sulka- korvakorut on valmistettu erilaisten lintujen sulista / höyhenistä ja niissä on lisänä metalli-, puu- ja luuhelmiä. Kuvissa olevien korvisten pituus vaihtelee 5 ja 8 cm:n välillä, ilman koukkuja mitattuna. Oikeanpuoleisen parin höyhenet ovat kanalinnun (kukko laskettakoon tässä myös kanaksi!) ja helmet ovat metallia. Keskimmäinen pari on tehty metalli- ja puuhelmistä sekä papukaijanhöyhenistä, vasemmanpuoleinen kanalinnun höyhenistä ja kookospähkinähelmistä. 

The feather earrings are made of different kinds of bird feathers and they have metal, wooden and bone beads. The earrings in the pictures are from 5 to 8 cm long, measured without the hooks. The earrings on the left hand picture are made of hackle feathers and metal beads, the pair in the middle is made of parrot feathers, metal and wood beads. The earrings on the right have hackle feathers and coconut beads in them.

Lasikorvakorut / Glass earrings

Kuvassa olevat korvikset (pyöreät helmet 6mm ja hiottu 8mm) sopivat mainiosti choker-kaulanauhojen ja rannekorujen kanssa, sillä ne on valmistettu samoista helmistä. Herkulliset myös sellaisenaan.

The earrings in these pictures (round 6mm and faceted round 8mm beads) fit perfectly with the chokers and bracelets, because they are made of same kind of beads. Delicious just by themselves too.
